Stories tell of a woman who fell into an endless sea and landed on the back of a turtle. This is the creation myth of many First Peoples who refer to North America as Turtle Island and home.  With that story in mind, this painting came to fruition. A turtle, a symbol of longevity, swims through the endless sea of time and space to an unknown destination. Only our stories may tell where the turtle will go.
